Rotary molding refers to injecting a certain amount of material to be molded into a heated mold. Then slowly rotate the mold (usually around two mutually perpendicular axes) to disperse and adhere the softened material to the mold wall, forming a hollow part. In order to achieve uniform thickness of the parts, the mold rotates continuously during the heating stage and continues to rotate during the cooling stage to prevent sagging or deformation.

Rotary molding process is a high-temperature and low-pressure plastic molding process that uses heat and biaxial rotation (i.e. angular rotation around two axes) to produce hollow integral molded parts. Compared to any other method, rotational molding is easier to manufacture large hollow parts, such as fuel tanks. Rotating molds are much cheaper than other types of molds. The material waste of this process is minimal, and excess materials can usually be reused, making it an economical and environmentally friendly manufacturing process.

Equipment and tools
Rotary molding machines come in various sizes and specifications. They are usually composed of molds, ovens, cooling chambers, and mold spindles. The spindle is installed on the rotating shaft to ensure uniform plastic coating inside each mold.
